Combustible Dust Awareness Training

What you don’t know about dust could kill you –

The US Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB) identified 281 combustible dust incidents between 1980 and 2005. Besides extensively damaging numerous industrial facilities, these explosive dust incidents caused 718 injuries and the deaths of 119 workers.

Workers are the first line of defense in preventing and mitigating fires and explosions. Employees closest to the source of the hazard should be trained to recognize and prevent hazards associated with combustible dust in the plant. These workers can be instrumental in recognizing unsafe conditions, taking preventative action, alerting management and ultimately saving lives, not only of their co-workers, but also those of the first responders to combustible dust incidents.
